  13. Last November, Ken Lalonde <ken@cs.toronto.edu> pointed out a problem
  14. with the path-searching code in dvipsk. If you use an environment
  15. variable to SUPPLEMENT a search path, what is supplemented is the
  16. wired-in backstop default, rather than the device-specific path taken
  17. from the configuration file.

  19. I don't recall any discussion of the topic at the time. I feel that the
  20. point being made is sound - the existing spec makes the
  21. "leading/trailing colon" syntax more or less useless for things like PK
  22. font directories, whereas Ken's proposal makes much more sense.

  24. I would support the proposal that this change be made at the next
  25. convenient opportunity.
